It all started with an idea. Our snowboard boot scientists approached K2 snowboard team member Sage Kotsenburg with a new concept for snowboard boot construction. And that's when it clicked. The one-of-a-kind construction features a one-piece rubber lower section with integrated mesh. In short, this means the Orton will not only be waterproof, but also warm and dry all day long. The one-piece rubber lower section is paired with a two-zone BOA® lacing system, making it a versatile boot that fits feet of all shapes and sizes.

 

During the development of this boot, Sage spent over 100 days perfecting it. In addition, the Orton was tested by our staff, our team of athletes, backcountry guides, and our film crew. Thousands upon thousands of hours went into setting a new standard with the Orton. Sage knows the devil is in the details... and they're meticulous. For top performance in the pack, we chose our Vibram® V5 rubber outsole. For ultimate cushioning and vibration absorption, we selected our Marshmallow™ injected midsole and Marshmallow™ Pro insole. For the best possible fit, we chose our performance bootie and a thermoformable Intuition® tri-density lining. To top it all off, a tear-resistant asymmetric lace cover with a gaiter hook keeps all the snow out.
